Lochiel Scotch Ale: Lochiel Brewing’s flagship Jacobite Scot wee-heavy medium bodied malty brew with a beautiful brown caramelization and an off-white tan head that is spiced with a mild-to-moderate hop aroma and taste. The biggest characteristic of this brew is the earthy, smoky and roasty profile of the body with a slight pine-like or mint-like finish. This lad is the crowd pleaser.
In the fall-time, we brew a Stronger Scotch Ale version called the Jacobite of this brew for the winter-time. This has the same flavor profile, just stronger with a ridiculous 13% ABV.
Lochiel ESB (Extra Special Bitter): A hopped and majestically malted flavor with a dextrinous body with an slightly off-white head that presents a sudden but brief crisp bittering and finishing malty. This brew has a clean and drying finish with a pleasant mouthfeel. The pleasant slightly caramelized malt character provides the well-rounding and balancing characteristic of this brew.
Lochiel Irish Red: A bit sweet, truly malty body with a lightly hopped tea-like flavor, and an even dextrinous body, This one is easy to please due to the well rounded and balanced flavor with a pleasant toasted malt character with a modest drying finish. Available all year long.
Lochiel Porter: Lochiel Brewing’s Scottish Robust Porter that demonstrates a black, modest body, with a dark off-white tan head that starts off with a friendly mild hop bite, sporting a mild smoky hop aroma. As the Porter makes it way along the tongue, the sweetness is numbed by a brilliant balance of nutty malty chocolate and coffee features. The timing of each feature gives an complex yet enjoyable experience with the brew. At the finish, a clean tasty chocolate and coffee flavor that doesn’t linger afterwards. This is a Scottish variant of the Porter!
Lochiel Mild: A British session beer taken back by using Scottish grains and yeast. As the name suggests, it contains a low hop character and a low alcohol content. Grainy to toasty malts lending to a caramel-like flavoring with some body from the high dextrins produced in brewing. The beer contains mild fruity characteristics from the esters produced by the yeast. This mild has moderate to low carbonation with a near still, bubbly head. Available all year long.
Lochiel Scottish Lager: This Scottish Golden Lager has a moderate biscuit and juicy malt character derived from Scottish pale malts, underscored by a light citrus fruit characteristic from the Scottish yeast esters. This brew uses the East Kent Goldings hops for a quick mild hop sensation. This brew is fantastic for the spring-time or the summer-time. Available all year long.
